Innovation pur beim ENERGY GLOBE Award 2011

On November 4, the presentation of this year’ Kärnten ENERGY GLOBE Award took place in the Velden Casino. Many innovative projects where presented with prizes.

Kärnten projects in the field of renewable energy and climate protection were awarded the ENERGY GLOBE Award Environment Prize by Member of the Regional Government with energy responsibilities Dr. Beate Prettner as part of Kärnten Full of Energy.

Innovation, quality and costs were only three of a total of eight criteria, which were significant for a points-based win. The victory went to Dietmar Stuck Jr. of NSP-New Solar Pump with a total of 17 of a possible 22 points. His concept of the solar pump station for developing countries was chosen as the State Winner by the jury comprising WK Vice President Sylvia Wostal, Polytechnic Marketing Manager Mag. (FH) Petra Bergauer, University Professor Dr. Wolfgang Kromp from the BOKU in Vienna as well as DI Erich Mühlbacher from the Kärnten State Government. Stuck will therefore represent Kärnten at the Austrian qualifying contest  for the ENERGY GLOBE Award 2011.

There were other winners in Kärnten besides Stuck, all standing at the podium under the categories of fire, earth and youth: in the category of fire it was the E-petrol-station finder from KELAG, in the category of earth GREEN GRIFFEN from Griffner and the Weber Energy Plus House from architects Ronacher ZT GmbH shared the main prize. In the youth category two projects shared the main prize: The "energy saving detectives" from NMS and HS Völkermarkt together with the project "Water is Life" from NMS and HS Greifenburg. Member of the Regional Government Beate Prettner and Veldens Mayor Ferdinand Vouk were thrilled: "There are so many creative minds, thinking about an energy future without fossil fuels - they must all be recognised on the podium as at lthe ENERGY GLOBE Award. We hope that there will be numerous additional projects in 2012!”

Thrilled by the concepts: Mayor Ferdinand Vouk, Dietmar Stuck Jr. – Winner of the ENERGY GLOBE Award Kärnten 2011 – and Member of the Regional Government Dr. Beate Prettner.
